Australia Post Announce AFL Multi-Cultural Ambassadors

The AFL and Australia Post have announced 10 AFL players as this year’s Multicultural Ambassadors as part of the Australia Post Community Inclusion Partnership.

As Multicultural Ambassadors, Nic Natanui, Leigh Montagna, Bachar Houli, Joel Wilkinson, David Rodan, Harry O’Brien, Israel Folau, Karmichael Hunt, Majak Daw and Ahmed Saad represent some of the many diverse backgrounds in football and will encourage individuals and groups to unite through their love of the game.

Speaking at the launch today, AFL Chief Executive Officer Andrew Demetriou said the AFL was proud to partner with Australia Post, an organisation which also values the importance of connecting people and communities, including multicultural communities.

Firstmac Join Broncos As Sleeve Sponsor

Brisbane-based home loan company Firstmac will use the Brisbane Broncos’ jersey to launch a bold foray into the Australian retail financial services market.

The Broncos have taken just nine days to replace one of their most prominent sponsorship properties after WOW Sight and Sound were placed into receivership last Monday.

Firstmac, who have predominantly been engaged in wholesale home loan lending, have taken up the prominent sleeve sponsorship property on the Broncos’ playing jersey to give them greater visibility within the retail market.

Flo Rida backs Frentzen in all-star Carrera Cup campaign

Florida-born rapper Flo Rida has joined forces with former Formula 1TM ace Heinz-Harald Frentzen for the coming Porsche City Index Carrera Cup Australia round at the Formula 1TM Qantas Australian Grand Prix, March 15-18.

The unique partnership will see the American music artist feature on the livery of the Porsche Guest car, to be raced by the German ex-F1 star, Frentzen.

An ARIA Music Award winning artist, Flo Rida will attend the Formula 1TM Qantas Australian Grand Prix and will also headline Sunday night’s Sidetracked Music Festival at Albert Park.

Tyre-maker pumps up Monday Night Football

Hankook Tyre has pumped up its involvement with the National Rugby League, taking the naming rights for Monday Night Football this season.

Building on its current role as the Official Tyre of the NRL, Hankook will sponsor all Monday night NRL fixtures in 2012, starting with tonight's game between the Rabbitohs and the Roosters at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

Hankook will use Monday Night Football to raise awareness amongst rugby league fans about the dangers of under-inflated motor vehicle tyres.
