Panasonic adds Paralympic's to extended Olympic program

Panasonic has announced it will further its support of London 2012 by signing up as an official partner of the Paralympic Games.

The electronics giant serves as an official worldwide Olympic partner in the audio and visual equipment category for this summer’s Olympic Games, and will now support the Paralympics in the same category.

Panasonic will provide a full line-up of audio visual equipment including LED large screen display systems, professional audio systems, flat screen TVs, digital video cameras, and broadcast equipment to support the staging of the Paralympic Games through co-operation with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), and the Olympic Broadcasting Services London (OBSL).

Pantene announces beauty ambassadors ahead of London Games

P&G’s Pantene has signed 11 elite female athletes as its newest beauty ambassadors to feature in Pantene’s first global marketing campaign to support the Olympic Games.

Pantene will sponsor the athletes who demonstrate that the shampoo help them to keep their hair beautiful during the Games. This sponsorship is part of P&G’s Worldwide Olympic Partner status with the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The group of athletes will follow the list of celebrities such as Liv Tyler and Eva Mendes and Naomi Watts who featured in Pantene’s iconic campaigns.

Barclays in Funding Talks for 'Boris Bikes' Olympics Expansion

London Mayor Boris Johnson's office is in talks with Barclays Plc about additional sponsorship for his cycle-hire initiative as the program is to be expanded for next year's Olympic Games.

Expanding the project toward the Olympic park in the east of the city and adding a further 2,000 cycles by spring 2012 will need additional funding in the "low millions" of pounds, according to Kulveer Ranger, Johnson's transport adviser. The mayor's office is also looking at "contributions from other third parties," he said in an interview on July 19.

McDonald's announce super-sized plans for London 2012

McDonald's has announced plans for four outlets on the Olympic Park at London 2012, including the biggest in the world, as part of its sponsorship for next year's Games which will feature American swimmer Dara Torres as its global ambassador.

As the Official Restaurant of the Olympic Games, McDonald's is the only branded retail food service provider to feed the athletes, media and spectators.·

McDonald's will have four new Olympic venue restaurants: one in the Olympic Village, one in the Main Press Centre, and two in the Olympic Park for spectators - one of which will be the largest McDonald's freestanding restaurant in the world.

The 3,000 square-metre (32,000 square-foot) two-story building in the Olympic Park will have 1,500 seats.

McDonald's plans to serve 1.75 million meals during the 29 day period of the Olympics and Paralympics.

Heineken official and exclusive lager sponsor of London 2012

Heineken has edged out British competition to secure the rights to become the ‘official lager supplier’ of the London 2012 Olympics.

The Dutch brewer has signed a tier-three sponsorship deal that will allow Heineken to sell its beer and cider brands on an exclusive basis at all Olympic venues where alcohol is served.

Heineken, which has also acquired hospitality and marketing rights under the terms of the deal, already has a significant presence in sport through its sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League, Rugby World Cup and European rugby cup.

British brewers Young’s and Fuller’s were also reportedly in the tender, but London 2012 CEO Paul Deighton rejected claims that organisers should have chosen a domestic company.
