James ‘The Missile’ Magnussen Makes a Splash with Samsung Electronics Australia

Samsung Electronics Australia today announces the sponsorship of one of Australia’s hottest Olympic hopefuls, James Magnussen, at a press conference held at Sydney's renowned Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool in Sydney. The sponsorship comes as Magnussen ramps up his grueling training regime in the lead up the London 2012 Olympic Games where he is tipped to win gold for his country.

The partnership with Samsung Electronics Australia will see James front a series of Olympic inspired advertising campaigns across television, print and online. As part of his role as Samsung brand ambassador, James will make a number of appearances in the lead up to and post the London 2012 Olympics. The partnership is in perfect alignment with Samsung's wider relationship with the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), Australian Olympic Team and International Olympic Committee (IOC), as a global wireless communication partner.

Samsung extends title sponsorship of Samsung Diamond League

The IAAF, which commercialises the title sponsorship rights of the Samsung Diamond League, is delighted to confirm that Samsung have triggered a contractual option to continue as Title Sponsor for the 2012 season.

Samsung, which first signed as the Title Sponsor of the then ‘IAAF Diamond League’ in July 2010 for a two year contract through 2011 with an option for 2012, has gained strong exposure across the 12 markets and 14 meetings of the series, and has enjoyed worldwide exposure thanks to growing TV coverage.

The Samsung Diamond League in 2011 came close to a cumulative total of 290 Million viewers and attracted a rising spectator attendance approaching 400,000 spectators across all 14 meetings.
